Chapter 39
Dooma put both hands on Nata’s shoulders. “You poor dear. You are hurt also.”
“It’s nothing,” Nata said confidently.
“Nonsense,” Dooma said as she led Nata over to the third bed. “If I don’t do something soon, those muscles will never be right.”
“But,” Nata protested.
Dooma gently pushed Nata down onto the bed. “There are no ‘buts’ here, child. You are injured and need to rest.”
Dooma placed her hand over Nata’s forehead. “Sleep, my child,” she said softly.
Nata stopped protesting. Her eyes slowly fell shut. She went limp on the bed.
“That’s good, my child,” Dooma said.
She tore away Nata’s right sleeve to get a better look at her shoulder.
“She was right. It is only slightly swollen, but it is better she sleep to heal it properly,” Dooma told Bartz.
She placed the last swab gently over Nata’s outraged muscles.
