Chapter 45
The heroes crossed the nearly barren street behind the bar to the Assassins’ Guild. The Guild stood in magnificence between the general store and the clinic/soothsayer’s office, a palace among all the other buildings in town. It was elegant and white, built in a style reminiscent of homes from the mother planet, back in a time when homes still stood there. Bartz wasn’t exactly sure what the style was, but he liked it.
“Boy, these guys really know how to live,” Falca said as she looked at the mansion in appreciation.
“Do you really think we can trust the assassins?” Tomas asked.
“I don’t see that we have much choice,” Bartz said.
“But do you really think they’ll know where Adres is?”
“I hope so, or else our quest could be in big trouble.”
“It makes sense,” Falca said. “Assassins need to know who’s who and who’s where.”
