Chapter 47
The morning was unwelcome to the heroes. All, that is, except Bartz. Awakened at the crack of the sun by a stray ray falling through the curtain, his mind had been racing along the edges of a conspiracy. Adres would know things, and Bartz knew where to find him. Bartz leapt out of bed and into the bathroom. Once he was bathed and dressed he figured that his comrades had slept enough.
“Everybody up and out!” he clapped his hands together. “I have ordered breakfast from quarters service.”
Nobody moved.
Bartz went over and shook Tomas’s bed, “Come on, friend! Let’s get a move on it. No use wasting good sunlight sleeping!”
“You sound like my ex-wife,” Tomas moaned and rolled over.
At this stage in the quest, Bartz would have none of it. He bent down, grabbed the mattress, and tugged it sideways, sending Tomas crashing to the floor.
“Now you’re acting like my ex-wife,” Tomas groaned.
Bartz nodded in satisfaction and turned his attention to Falca,
