Zayla, after feeling the sudden mood shift from her inner wolf, asked in her thoughts ‘Miss wolf, are you still there?’ She felt dumb, feeling like she was trying to talk to herself, which, in the plain human sense, she could be sent to a mental institute if they knew how and what she heard inside her head.

‘Kayden Felch was, or rather ‘is’ your mate?’ The wolf asked, voice sounding a little unsure and distant as if it suddenly paced further in her brain. She then nodded in response before muttering a quiet ‘yes’ thinking that nodding would go unseen by her wolf.

‘Azalea King. I assume you’ve heard of her, then.’ The mezzo-soprano voiced wolf presumed.

“Yes. Kayden’s first mate and the packs’ first Luna. He told me all about her.” Zayla responded as she turned her head back towards the mirror and added in her mind, ‘Except the full details on her death.’ She sighed at that, wanting to forget the unease she felt when Kayden started to open up about his past love.
