Chapter 54
Gunner’s POV
I have been pacing on Kayden’s porch for some time now. I was supposed to join him in the clearing a while ago but told me not to instead through our mind link.
‘Don’t interfere, Ryder.’ If it was any other occasion, I would have butted my head in his business like I always do. But his current state and tone told me that this is different from all the other times.
“Why did you do it, Gun?” Sitting down on the first step on the porch, I sighed after hearing the finality in Kayden’s voice in my head. We’ve lost so many of our comrades just days ago and most of them that have survived are still in the midst of recuperating from Jackson’ ambush. If only Gunner hadn’t gone ahead and snitched away, we would not have been in this condition.
