Chapter 66

“I’m sorry if I should not have broken it. But I couldn’t think of any other way to wake you guys up. I thought that if I broke it, maybe you’d finally open your eyes.” Ryder rambled out when Zayla and Kayden gave no response and just stared at his open palm.

“Ryder, thank you.” Zayla breathed out and looked up at the panic-stricken wolf who she knew was waiting for some scolding.

“Ry, you did what you can. No need to apologize.” Kayden added quietly, finally releasing a breath of relief.

Ryder felt his knees buckle as he finally felt at ease. When he decided to break the pendant as a last resort to try and wake the couple up, he was not sure how they would take to it that he broke something that might be helpful in tracking Jackson or maybe in taking revenge on him.

Zayla chuckled at how Ryder nearly sobbed in relief as he sat back down beside Kayden, color coming back to his face, “And not just for breaking that necklace. But more for saving me and Kayden.”
