Daniel noticed that Mary was eager to get to the shifter; he quickly grabbed her by her arm. “What are you doing?” he asked.

“To see what he wants,” Mary replied as she slowly removed Daniel’s hand. She continued as the rest of the pack did nothing but watch.

Without her giving the order, the best thing they could do as a pack under an alpha is to stand down. But if worst gets to worst, they have to engage with or without the order of their alpha.

Someone has a different mindset toward the rules that govern the pack. He didn’t like the idea of seeing Mary walk into the woods where there is a shifter. Daniel ran after Mary and pulled her by the arm. “You can’t do this,” he said.
