Chapter 76. The Eyes

“I don’t like the idea of going back to the underworld either.” Mary voiced her concern. The underworld isn’t a place for any being or soul. There’s no rest in the underworld as demons are always after them. There’s neither sunlight that ushers in the day. The underworld is a place of darkness that has nothing to do with the dawn.

“I understand how you feel but you know I can’t keep you here. I only sought permission to bring you two here until the dust settles.”

“Permission from who?” Joe cuts in with a concerned look on his face. “Maybe we could as well seek permission to stay…”

“You will not understand…”

“Then make us understand, please.” Mary draws closer to Gwen. She had this look on her. She’s fretful about going back to the underworld to face the demons.
