“Will you sleep over at my place?” Peter asked Betty, who had been silent all through the ride.

“No, please take me home,” She replied dryly, she wasn’t frowning, nor was she smiling.

But it was obvious that she wasn’t happy with Peter, and that made him only uncomfortable.

He had tried to have a normal conversation since he started driving, but Betty wasn’t interested.

He couldn’t place his hands on the reason she was acting cold towards him.

“Are you sure you are okay?” He asked for the umpteenth time.

“I said I’m fine,” Betty replied with a scoff.

“But you have been acting cold since we left the party, and you aren’t answering any of my questions.”

“And do you know what?” He asked but continued anyway because Betty wasn’t ready to give him an answer.

“I don’t like the way you are acting, it’s making my heart heavy,” He said.

“I already told you before, I’m fine, I’m just stressed out, that’s all,” She said.
