Chapter 12

Doubtful and curious, Queenza took a cloth with red spots - which looked clearly like blood - from the trash basket behind the house. The cloth was so out of shape that it was difficult to recognize. But Queenza was sure that it was her clothes.

Wasn't this the clothes she was wearing when she was attacked by a terrible creature on the way to Aunt Marlene's house?

Queenza reflexively threw the clothes back into the wastebasket. The hair on the back of his neck immediately bristled, remembering the pain and horror when the creature's hand penetrated his stomach from behind.

"It turns out the smell came from here. I forgot I hadn't burned it."

Queenza gasped in surprise to find Kingsley standing beside her. The man's gaze was straight at the basket, specifically at Queenza's clothes which were torn and stained with dried blood. Slowly the clothes wrinkled, like plastic exposed to heat. It continued to shrink until finally only a black lump the size of a toddler
