"I am so sorry, Linc. I shouldn't have..."
"Wait, what are you sorry about? Why would you be sorry?" He asks, brows drawn in confusion. He looks at my head like he wants to check to make sure I am alright. I feel the uncomfortable bump at the back of my head but I don't feel any pain.
"For leaving the house when you told me not to. I am sorry, don't be mad at me." I wince. The memory of that awful afternoon is too painful to dredge up.
"What? Amelia, please. Don't talk like that. I can't be mad at you. How could I?" He says, he leans in closer, holding my hand tight.
"But you just said it should never have happened in the first place." I whisper. My head feels light. There is a dull lull in my veins from the IV.
