Isabella was shocked when she heard Chris’s question, she couldn’t fathom how he could just ask her that and what could have possibly given him the impression to ask that. She cleared her throat and wished her hair was down because this was the time she would have used it to hide her face.

“I um… I’m on the pills. Ryan and I decided we should wait a little more. There is no need bringing in a baby so soon. There is no rush.”

Chris stared at her without a word, her response both satisfied and intrigued him. Her answer had raised a million more questions but he decided to stop being blunt for a while and just nodded and made his way towards the house. Isabella sighed and followed behind him silently. Getting to the front door, he opened a small metallic box to reveal tiny buttons which he casually input his pin not caring whether she could see or not.
