Tangled Hearts: Chapter 13

“Come to my office,” Chris said as he pressed the intercom on his desk. In a minute, the door opened and Daniel stood waiting for his order.

“Did you get the clothes I asked you to?”

“Yes sir, they are right in the car,” he replied.

“Good,” Chris nodded as he packed up his flies.

“Are you going somewhere sir?” Daniel asked when he saw how busy the man was with clearing his table.

“I’m leaving,” Chris responded as he shut down his laptop. “Is there a problem?” he asked as he glanced up at Daniel.

“Actually sir, you have a meeting by 5:00PM and it’s just 4:00PM, so?”

“Cancel the meeting,” Chris said as he stood up.

“But sir…”

“You all gets to leave early some days right, so why can’t I?”

“Um…” Daniel was speechless, he couldn’t help but think if Chris really needed permission to leave early, he was the boss, he can choose not to show up the whole day and no one would question him. “It’s just that, you fixed the meeting last w
