Chapter 16. He Doesn't Want to Explain the Misunderstanding
It was not yet morning when Thi San got up and did her daily tasks.
She held Thang Vu's dirty blue shirt in her hand and told her heart that she must wash it thoroughly because this was not simply a shirt, but it was also a gift from his mother.
Last night, she heard Mai Hoang's very sad voice.
Thi San was working hard to clean the stain on his shirt when she suddenly heard footsteps approaching, so she turned her head and looked up.
Although she saw Thang Vu standing right there, she didn't understand why she was still startled because she didn't think he got up so early today.
- You can't wash that stain off. Don't try too hard.
His gentle words made Thi San feel even more guilty.
The delicate hands that were controlled by her thoughts rubbed each other harder. She was determined to clean the hateful stain.
- Thi San, don't you listen to me?
Thang Vu growled when he saw she considered his words like water poured on taro leaves.
