His adopted mother had repeatedly reached out to Jenna to ask her for help in resolving his resentment towards his father after seeing how close he was to her.

Ben explained to Jenna his reason for the kind of relationship he had with his father, he made her promise not to ever tell his adopted mother. He knew the secret was safe with Jenna; he trusted her.

“He has been away from home since he became a legal adult. Do you think your cooking is enough to bring him back?”Ben heard his father say, bringing him out of his thoughts.

“Don’t be like that, honey,” Mrs Larkson replied to her husband.

“He is not a child; he would return only on his own terms, as it seems. If you are to talk to him about something, then ask him to get himself a woman.” Benard Larkson said and stood up from the table, going back upstairs.
