Morgan Daniels was freaking the hell out. She didn’t know what to expect.
She would be seeing family she hasn’t seen in over five years. Originally, when she had decided to honour the invitation, she didn’t know she would feel this tense.
Why? she didn’t know.
Perhaps a part of her was hoping that the wedding wouldn't push through. That, someone, had crashed the wedding or maybe, even the groom had bailed out last minute.
But another part of her, the rational one, knew that was nothing but wishful thinking.
She could feel Maia’s gaze on her. Throughout the ride, twice perhaps, the young girl had asked if Morgan was alright probably because she noticed how tense she was.
Morgan offered her a sly smile, telling her everything was okay and that she was just nervous about seeing her family after five years.
But right now, as once again felt Maia's gaze on her, she knew that Maia had caught onto her pathetic excuse of a lie.
