Morgan Daniels was losing her darn mind. She didn’t know else to help Maia. The young girl has been in her bubble for the past few days and would only talk to Morgan if she needed something.
The number of times she flinched whenever the dark-haired tried touching her was uncountable. The hurt Morgan felt in her heart over the fact that she couldn’t hold her and kiss Maia like before was unbearable.
And it was all because of her.
Morgan blamed herself. If only she had checked into work that night.
If only I hadn’t left Maia alone.
If only she had been there earlier, she could have prevented it.
But she wasn’t there and the guilt was eating her up. Morgan could not look at Maia when she spoke to her, because that would entail looking into her eyes and whenever she did, all she saw was a disappointing look.
