"Just a few more minutes and I will be out of here"

That was all Maia Shelton could think about as she willed herself to concentrate on the paper before her.

She was currently in class, writing her last paper before Christmas break. Professors had decided to give a quiz before allowing them to go on break. It made no sense that it was the twenty-third of December and they had not gone on break. How?

Usually, by the nineteenth, all classes were put on hold as students were dismissed for holidays.

At least that’s how it happened in the high school she attended.
