Yet, Leon turned back to the door and frowned. Having heard enough, he released his power and entered the room, immediately zeroing in on the witch. He caught Alpha Rhye’s knowing look from the corner of his eye, telling him he’d known Leon was listening in, but that wasn’t what held his attention.
Livia whipped around faster than he anticipated, a blade in one hand, her other pressed against Rhye’s chest as though to hold him back.
Or protect him.
Leon quickly dismissed the thought, forcefully reminding himself that the woman was a spy. He couldn’t trust her words or actions. Everything she said and did would be tailored to lure them in.
