“You killed him,” she whispered.
“Yes.”
“You- you're just gonna leave him there?”
“Yes.”
Opening the passenger door, he shoved her in, ignoring her gasp of pain, then quickly jumped into the driver’s seat and tore away from the building with a squeal of rubber on asphalt.
“What the fuck, Rhye! Why are you acting like this? You can’t honestly believe I—”
He cut her off, unwilling to listen to her spin a lie. “Why were you meeting with the Harpy, Livia ? What message was so important it couldn’t wait?”
“Rhye, I swear, I thought he was a homeless man. A human. He didn’t smell like any of the things you all said to be on guard for! He said he needed help!”
