"How can they be here?". Annika asked herself in a murmur.

"No!".

She said shaking her head.

"I can't be seen".

Then immediately, she quickly turned marching up the stairs in a haste.

"Wait!".

She heard Mateo say followed by…

"Yes, that's her".

Which made her stop in her tracks with her eyes wide in fear, her lips parted slightly and soon turned dry and pale.

She swallowed and exhaled with her eyes closed and then opened her eyes slowly turning with a forced smile playing on her lips.

"Theo…." She breathed out as she turned. "Hew". She sighed in relief when she found out that it wasn't her Mateo was speaking to.

She used the back of her hand to wipe the imaginary sweat beaded on her forehead.

Both the cops and Mateo were seriously engaged in a conversation, she couldn't hear what it was they were saying though.
