Bree’s POV

I closed my locker with a slam after stuffing all my books and retrieving my backpack. I took out my phone, making my way out of the school. Hayden has soccer practice, so he has to wait behind while Sophie and I are going to

Maddie's house. We were going to get to the bottom of whatever this was, whether she liked it or not.

I was about to step out of the school when I felt my phone vibrate in my arms, and my ringtone, ‘Position’ by Ariana Grande, rang out loud, echoing around the empty hallway. I checked the caller ID before clicking on the answer log and placing the phone close to my ear.

“Hi, Mom.” I greeted. I could hear voices in the background, but I couldn’t understand what they were saying. Judging from how tiny the voice was, I could tell it was Asher.

“Hey sweetie, How are you?” My mom asked in her motherly voice.

“I’m good; what about you, Dad, and Asher?”

“We are doing great; Asher is having a blast. He re
