Chapter 27. Are You Real?

Chase’s POV

“Hello, my son.” The voice greets me, and when I turn around my eyes are threatening with rolling out of my head. Calor is howling in my head, not sure whether to be ecstatic or afraid.

“M… Mo… Mom?” I stammer, as I fall to my knees. I recognize her from the pictures Berion has shown me over the years, and she is still just as beautiful as she is in them.

She smiles, stands from the bed she was sitting on, and walks to me.

“Chase, my darling boy, what have you done?” She asks, her voice stern and her eyes blazing. I shake my head not knowing what she is talking about.

“Nothing?” I defend, but she sits down on the floor with me.

“Yes, my darling, you are repeating a piece of faith that should have never been. You need to find Amber and rectify everything. You and Blaze were always meant to be her mates. You are brothers, my darling.” I look at her disbelief coursing through every vein of my body.
