Chapter 28. Working Together as a Team

Kiara’s POV

I know Maze is more hurt by his uncle and aunt’s decision to leave the pack, but I also know he understands where they are coming from. As do I. Mom and dad would have left their pack if they had any chance to do it after how everyone treated me. But that was not an option, and I understand why they stayed. I just hope Brandon and Morgan find what they are searching for, and come back one day.

After hugging him for a couple of minutes, he kisses my hair and breaks the hug. His eyes are still sad, but there’s also a kind of determination in them.

“Are you okay, babe?” I ask, kissing his jaw. He smiles down at me.

“Yeah. I’m really sad to see them go, and I know mom is going to cut a bitch when she hears about it, but this is their choice and their right. I will not hold them back when they need to be elsewhere.”
