Chapter 21. A Hazard of Hearts: Dispute

Daniel POV

Lea’s question shook me to the core. Had I given my girlfriend the impression that I was so attracted to Aria? Shit! That was foolish of me. I swore inwardly and hugged Lea tightly, kissing her forehead.

“Baby, why do you say that? Why would I be attracted to her?” I kept a calm tone, hiding the guilty feeling of betrayal that arose in my heart. How could I do that to Lea and upset her for no reason? Why couldn’t I control my thoughts where Aria was concerned?

The Omega was of no significance to me. I shouldn’t have those thoughts nor get so upset when she was around.

“She is no longer an Omega, Daniel. Aria is now a warrior. You should get used to her new rank. She will be around us more often now,” Cole reminded me calmly. How could he be so calm?

“Because I am not the one in trouble, you are my friend. I am curious to see how you will calm Lea’s suspicions,” Cole mocked me again.
