Chapter 20. Crazy Heartbeats

Aria POV

I had been listening to my father-in-law praising me and felt weird about the situation I found myself in. Andy never left my side for a minute and when his father announced my new rank, he hugged me by the legs and cheered.

That brought tears to my eyes. I wiped them and the feeling of someone’s penetrating eyes on me made me look up and face Daniel and his girlfriend, Lea.

She had her eyes on me, holding Daniel’s hand. She seemed angry and I wondered why. Daniel’s eyes were on Lea and he had a confused expression. Andy called him and he turned my way. I saw his eyes turning a darker blue and he ran his fingers through his messy hair as he walked my way, coming to his brother, still holding Lea’s hand. Cole must have been trying to take over or Daniel felt aroused.

These were the cases when my mate’s eyes turned darker blue. When he was angry his eyes turned black or red depending on how angry he was. Black meant angry, and red meant furious.
