Chapter 43. Talking

Knocking wakes me up, and I’m still in bed with Kellan. Groaning, he gets out and opens the door.

“The king has been waiting nearly half an hour.” I hear Beta Pete.

“Okay, give us thirty seconds.” Kellan closes the door and throws his robe at me. “Just put it on. You can come back and get changed after. You made me sleep in.”

“Oh, I did?” I laugh slightly, wrapping the robe around my body. It goes past my ankles! I laugh somewhat, slipping on the shoes I have. I watch him throw on some sweats and a T-shirt.

He walks out, and I follow behind. I’m not awake enough for this. We walk into the room, and Darius looks at us.

“You’re having breakfast here; William has explained to the others that we are discussing what happened yesterday, so they don’t question it.” I walk further in with Kellan.
