Eden turned over the letters one by one, but didn't recognize her father's handwriting on any of them.
She was relieved.
But who was writing to her? Eden popped the wax seal on the first letter. Mrs. Mirabelle,
"exclusive milliner to the omegas of Worcester", asked Viscountess Hadleigh to accept her best wishes for her recent marriage, and hoped to have the honor of showing her, whenever she wished, a selection of hats unrivaled in London's finest Bond Street boutiques. The next was from George Arnold, "master bootmaker to the nobility and clergy", who also requested the favor of a visit from the lady to his shop. There was also a missive from a haberdasher, a local portrait painter and a furniture store.
