Chapter 63

Lola's POV

      A pack member was killed at the border.

     His words kept ringing in my ears and I felt weighed down. If only I had listened to my instincts, it might have been avoided. I couldn't even protect one person, how was I supposed to protect the whole wolf world?

      "There was nothing we could have done, Lola", Jasmine said sadly through our mindlink. "We're just getting used to this whole thing, it's going to take time", she tried to reassure me but I believed it was my fault.

     "Lola? Baby? can you hear me?" Adrian's voice brought me to the present and I realized that he was starting to pack up the food we did not get to eat. 

     Another ruined time with my mate. This person better be ready for what is coming for them.

     "Yeah, yeah, of course. We should pack up and go see what happened", I said as I started packing up too. Adri
