Chapter 57

After parting ways with Ryder and his team, Xavier Nightshade retired to his hotel room. He had agreed to stay in The Regency for a few more days to attend to some pressing matters, and he knew that he would need some time to rest and regroup.

As he entered his room, Xavier felt a sense of relief wash over him. He was glad to be away from the pressures of his position as Lycan King, even if it was only for a short while, but then, he was also worried about Scarlett. The lass was being rebellious lately and he had no idea how to control her.

He sat down on the bed, feeling the softness of the sheets beneath him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, letting the tension in his body melt away. As he opened his eyes, he noticed a letter sitting on the nightstand. It was addressed to him, with no return address.

Curiosity getting the better of him, Xavier picked up the letter and opened it. Inside, he found a short message written in elegant cursive script.
