Asher turned to face me, his eyes lighting up with surprise. "Your Highness," he said, a smile spreading across his face. "What are you doing here? I thought you were sleeping!”

I took a deep breath first. "I need to ask you something," I said, my voice shaking slightly. "Would you... would you like to spend the night with me?"
