Sophie
We got all my boxes in his car. I was packed and ready to go. I tried to argue my way out, but he said the one thing that made me stop struggling.
You can always stay if you like.
That wasn’t an option, and neither was leaving the city. Anywhere I went, Antonio was bound to find me. It’s like I wasn’t a good hider.
I was amazed at his company’s size, but nothing prepared me for his house.
It was… What was the word again? Enormous.
I stood staring at it like I hadn’t seen such a huge building before – I hadn’t, but he didn’t need to know that.
“This is huge,” I said.
He shrugged, “That’s the smallest building I own.”
Gee, thanks. He couldn’t take a compliment for once.
Suddenly, I remembered why I didn’t want to do this in the first place. We didn’t seem to agree, and then he wanted me to follow his every order like some dog.
