Chapter 9
It was exactly 6 pm on that evening when Booker drove in shabbily. This was because he was a little intoxicated as a result of the time that he had with his fraternal brothers. For some reason, that day was the first time that he felt good about anything in a long while.
Pushing past the entrance of their home into the sitting room, Toby wondered what was so thrilling about that day that his brother began to sing one of his favorite reggae music. “Brother, it seems like someone had a good day today? Met a girl?” Toby inquired teasingly, while his face was engrossed with the program that he was seeing on the television screen.
Bursting out in a loud giggle, Booker looked back at his brother. “Of course, you know what the answer to that question is, right? Well, just so you don’t flatter yourself. Your beloved brother didn’t find any new girl. Can you let him be right now?” Booker responded. The tone of his voice was sarcastic, but at the same time it reeked of so much emo
