Chapter 292
“Her uterus is damaged,” the OB/GYN said, her voice grim. “There’s nothing we can do. The baby won’t survive.”
Dr. Fatima closed her eyes, her heart heavy with the weight of the words. She had seen so much suffering in her years as a doctor, so many lives lost, so much sorrow. But each loss was a knife to her soul, a reminder of the fragility of life.
“We need to tell the family,” she said finally. “Is there anyone we can contact? Anyone at all?”
One of the nurses shook her head. “We’ve tried contacting the numbers in her emergency contacts, but no one is answering. The only person who might be able to help is... he’s in surgery right now. Critical condition.”
Dr. Fatima nodded, her mind racing. “When he’s out of surgery, we’ll need to tell him. But for now, we need to focus on saving Roshanay.”
