Chapter 60

Jade POV

I stared at my phone the next day, my eyes all puffy and swollen from crying myself to sleep because of Saint.

I looked at the number Marcel had used to call, contemplating if I should call him. I missed him, that I knew but I was the one who had been angry at him, yelled at him and even hung up.

I sighed. What was I thinking? Calling him? If he came out, Saint's men would be ready to get him in no minute and bring him over to Saint. And as Saint had said, he was going to kill him.

And I've seen what Saint did to people at the bar basement. I didn't want that for Marcel, even though it was almost inevitable.

I honestly didn't want him dead, the thought alone terrified me. And I had just been lying to myself all along, convincing myself that I didn't care if he was alive or dead.

I was really a bad person.

I dropped my phone and lay back on my bed. I was not going to risk his life by calling him
