Chapter 249. I Want to Change

The wetness in her hand made her realize he was crying! Tears were wetting his face. Never in her wildest nightmares had she thought she would feel him cry. She was shocked. The darkness made it impossible to see through the rarest of sights. But she could feel the quivers his body was emitting. His whole self was trembling, his mouth slightly parted, taking shaky, uneven breaths. He was reliving that horrific day when he thought he had lost her forever. The day she was lying in her own blood, her eyes wide open but unseeing. The day when numerous needles were injected into her body just to help her take a breath. It was in that moment he realized how much he wished for her to stay by his side. He needed her more than his next heartbeat, his next breath.

"I decided; what I couldn't break—" He paused before looking straight into her eyes. "I will own." His dark words and the intense look in his eyes sent a steep shiver running down her spine.

She was aware that he was bei
