Chapter 194. Trapped
The bright sun rays illuminated her face. Its sharp light brightened her closed eyelids, waking her up from sleep. Her eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the sudden brightness as her mind slowly pulled itself out of the haze of slumber. A soft yawn escaped her lips, and she stretched her arms, feeling the stiffness in her limbs.
She got out of the blanket whilst yawning, her brain still not recovered from sleep. She moved towards the washroom when a jingling sound entered her ears. She took two to three steps more when a sudden tug on her ankle stopped her in the middle of the room. Her half-open eyes moved downwards towards her ankle, and she saw her ankle tied in the chain. That was when every memory from last night hit her like a truck.
Her barely open eyes shifted downward, confusion settling over her as she looked at her foot. And then, she saw it.
A chain.
Her breath hitched. Her heartbeat picked up its pace.
