Chapter 243. A Mother's Guilt
She was in her room when her phone rang, and she quickly answered. It was her mother.
"Yes, Mama? Are you alright? What happened?"
"Zahra, I'm not feeling well. I am missing you. Can you come over?"
"Are you alright? Why are you not feeling well?"
"I don't know. I feel dizzy, but I guess it might be due to weakness."
"Weakness? Dizzy? Have you called the doctor?"
"I will, but first, come here if you can. I need you by my side. I am just missing you."
"Don't worry, Mama. I'll try coming. Goodbye," Zahra said and hung up the call. Worry took over her expression.
Since the day her mother came to know about the harassment she had faced all these years, she had been immensely guilty. Her mother had often cried because of the guilt she felt for not being able to protect her only daughter.
Zahra found more and more reasons to keep things from her mother. The last thing Zahra would want was her mother stressing over her.
