Dominic’s POV

I could see Mr. Rossini across the room, sipping his drink with a nonchalance that sickened me all the while keeping Jocelyn firmly by his side. Serene, they were entertained. But something in my bones whispered that their tranquility was premeditated, just like this whole scheme they had pulled on me tonight.

I strode over without second thoughts, cutting through the guests in knots with a purposefulness that parted the crowd before me. Reaching them, I didn’t waste time with pleasantries.

“Mr. Rossini,” I said, my voice cold. He turned with slow deliberation, a lazy smile spreading as he glanced over at Jocelyn, then returned his gaze to me.

“Ah, Dominic.” His voice was unruffled, “Is there a problem?”

I nudged my teeth together. “Where is Leila?”
