Chapter 18. Hidden Feelings
Dominic’s POV
“I’ll take the couch,” I said, throwing a pillow and a blanket on the couch. “You can take the room.” I pointed toward the direction of the room. There was only one bedroom, a bed. But it was safe, and that was all that mattered for this moment.
Leila blinked, no doubt, I could see fear welling up within her, after what had gone on this evening. “You don’t need to do that,” she said so low, her voice was barely above a whisper. “I mean. You’ve done so much already. I can take the couch.”
“You are being ridiculous,” I said, sounding exasperated. “You need that bed a lot more than I do. I will be fine.”
Her eyes raked over mine for a second, hard and longing for the truth in my sincerity. “Fair enough.”
“I’m still kinda scared, but…thank…thank you, Mr. Anderson.”
I only nodded toward her, then to the bedroom. “Get some sleep, you’re safe here. We’ll head back to the mansion first thing in the morning.”
