Dominic’s POV

“Luca, how are you feeling?” I said standing at the door of his room with my arms crossed he stubbornly shoved himself upright into a sitting position. He was pale, the sweat standing out on his forehead and the strain showed in his face but there was that fire in his eyes.

“I’m fine, Dom,” he growled, easing himself back against the pillows leaning against the headboard behind him. “Stop treating me like I’m some fragile flower that’s gonna break at any moment.”

“Don’t act like you’re invincible, then,” I snapped, further entering the room. “You got shot, Luca. You need rest, not more stress.”

“My life is stressed already. It isn’t going to leave, till we finally clear everything up with Robert. What’s the plan?”

I stuttered then, turning sideways; Leila sat mutely by his bed, her gaze darting between us, reminding me of all that hung in the balance, all I had to protect.
