Jocelyn’s POV

“Daddy, I don’t know how much I can take.” My voice shook and I sagged back against the back of the sleek black car. My father had turned and eyed me through the rear view mirror, his eyebrows etched with concern.

“I know, baby,” he soothed. “I’m so sorry about Dominic. I can only imagine how hard this has to be for you.”

“He’ll pull through, won’t he?” I asked.

My dad huffed, his knuckles white on the wheel. “He’s a fighter, Jocelyn. If anyone can pull through this, it’s Dominic.”
