Chapter 31. Snow

Snow will come late this year. The signs of winter is here. Trees are dying, the days are shorter, the air is dry and the temperature is beyond freezing yet. Snow is late.

Alpha North can taste it on his tongue, feel it on his skin: it tingles in his ears, whispers on his nape and when he wakes, the weather lies about the elusive snow biding its time.

The first winter without Cam, his only family. He wonders if Cam look up at the same sky, kiss his teeth and regret what he has done. Maybe like the snow, he's biding his time to come home. To watch the first snow of the year with Precious.
