Chapter 33. Volleyball Match

THE SOLDIERS DO NOT believe in a friendly match. Everything is a competition to them. When Alpha North had suggested a friendly volleyball game between seven of them and ten of the teenagers, they had cackled and rubbed their palms like a YA evil villain.
The teens on their end had judgementally accused the Alpha of being unfair. The soldiers are overpowered. Add Alpha to the mix and they'll be unstoppable. The Captain had given them a bullshit lecture about how this could be a test of strength and perseverance.
Collectively, the teens rolled their eyes. Unlike the Captain's bullshit, the Alpha had a sound reason. Ever since the runts appeared, he'd been meaning to have a one-on-one with them like how he did with Lata.
The reports say the runts are adjusting fine, their constant frayed nerves notwithstanding. He wants to see it for himself. The Alpha is happy to know that Lata had adjusted to life here. In fa
