Chapter 15. A Night
Theodore’s POV
I wanted Adeline more than I was willing to admit.
My whole body ached for her, my blood was burning, my wolf howling for me to take what was already mine.
And yet, just when she was ready—when she was looking at me with those desperate, breathless eyes, silently begging me—I stopped.
She didn’t say a word.
Neither did I.
I just froze, my body was quietly hovering over hers, I felt every heat of her skin pressing into me, calling me back.
Then I stood up.
The water from the shower was still hanging to my skin, trailing down my body in slow, little drops.
I ran a hand through my hair, straightened it myself, and without a single word, I turned and walked out of the room.
My wolf, Fenir, growled at me in frustration.
“What the hell was that, Theodore?”
“I don’t know…” I muttered.
But I did know.
I just wasn’t ready to face it.
