Chapter 20. He Hates Me
Adeline’s POV
Theodore paused the moment the words left my mouth.
His shoulders stiffened, he froze at that spot and didn’t move an inch.
“Tell me, Theodore. Do you hate me?”
He didn’t say a word. He just remained quiet.
“Do I remind you so much of Iris?” I asked, my voice shaking, filled with so much pain. “Do you feel irritated after that first—”
Before I could finish, he spun around, with his dark eyes and turned to face me as he yelled.
“STOP!” He roared.
I flinched, a bit startled as I tried to catch my breath, but I refused to back down.
I had spent three months pretending I could live like this. Not anymore because it was draining and I was slowly losing my mind.
I forced myself to stand, to meet his gaze, even though my whole body was trembling.
“Tell me, Theodore.” My voice was quieter now, but no less desperate. I was desperate.
“Do you hate—”
“I SAID YOU SHOULD STOP!”
