Chapter 24
The sound of the Holter monitor awakened me. When I glanced at the light, the white was all around me, and I closed my eyes again. They plugged my hand with dextrose. I looked around to see where I was. Such rooms became all too familiar to me. It was also the first thing I saw after waking up from comatose.
There was no one else in the room. All I can hear is the beeping of the hospital machine. I attempted to recall what occurred and why I got here, but I couldn’t remember anything. My brain hurts no matter what I attempt to picture.
I massaged my head while leaning on the hospital bed’s steel. When Ava and Turstin walked in, it felt like my eyes were whirling again. I assumed they were the only two who had entered when another man walked in. It was the one I noticed on the patio.
