Chapter 10. My Rules
My eyes opened slowly. I gasped in shock as they landed on the man in front of me.
“Ma’am, I am sorry for disturbing you, but your mother’s surgery has been completed. You can-”
I rose to my feet and began to run over to the reception desk.
“Where can I see my mother? Is she okay? Is she alive?” I started to panic. I tapped my finger repeatedly on the desk, waiting for a response from the lady.
“You can go in.”
I followed the woman from behind, and she led me to my mother. I dropped to my knees as soon as my eyes laid on her. Tears began to build up in my eyes.
“Mother?” I said as I touched her palm. She did not respond. Her eyes were closed.
“Is she okay? Why is she not responding?”
“Ma’am, she is asleep. You have only five minutes to see her.”
She walked out, leaving just my mother and me alone. I rubbed her hand, blinking back the tears. I continued to hope she would wake up soon. I needed to tell her how my life was taking a
