Chapter 242

She hated being afraid. It was one of the reasons why she was cold to people. She didn't want to ever be in a situation where she couldn't control what was happening in her life.

After being afraid when her parents died and being uncertain how life was going to be for her and her younger sister, she decided that she wouldn't be afraid anymore. But she was really afraid because her hands were still shaking.

That was why she couldn't pick up the phone to call Jason or anybody else. She knew she was going to have to call them, but she had to gather herself first. It was very important for her because she didn't like people seeing her when she was vulnerable. She had never liked that. She never enjoyed being vulnerable.

That was why she was always icy cold when she was around people because she didn't like people playing on her intelligence. It wasn't what she could condone. She had always not been able to relate to people because of the wall she put around her.
