Mona thought it was funny that Bailey was astonished. Did they really think she was too dumb to see through their blatant little tricks? She had put up with their plans in the past, but now she wouldn’t waste any more time.
She said calmly, “It would be better for you to find the person who worked with you instead of trying to control me here. By the way, she hasn’t been feeling well lately and is in the hospital. Don’t forget to bring her some goodies when you go.”
Bailey looked at Mona with a sad look on his face. “It looks like your debating skills have gotten a lot better in just a few years.” He would never have believed that his formerly obedient adoptive daughter had changed into this if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes.
